The way Harbin said that last instruction, for her to not get out of the pod.

The tone sent off warning bells in Bianca. Looking out the windows, she couldn't see anything due to the wings of Harbin's ship surrounding her.

Weird enough--she knew it could warp its shape, but she didn't think it had enough ability to swallow the entire pod.

She ran her hand over her brow and up into her hair--still up in its formal coif.

"Well, today did not go as planned," she muttered.

She tapped her communication panel to reach the others.

"This is Lady Bianca," she said. "Reaching out to the Ambassadorial party. Does anyone respond?"

The system attempted to transmit. Nothing seemed to be going out. A frequency was blocking it.

"Lady Bianca, to the Terran Ambassadors. Please respond." Still, no answer. Just feedback of blocked transmissions.

A military tactic, for certain.

Which side did it? She didn’t know. If she had to wager a guess, though, she wouldn’t put it past her own people to prevent the Rhimodians from calling for backup. Not many Rhimodian ships had joined the battle. The Terran military had dominated the swarm of ships that filled the space as she’d escaped the exploding transport.

Now she was stuck here, on this world.

This icy world, as Harbin said. Probably not her best choice for a location to land on. She hadn’t been thinking. Merely to get away from the fighting. Locate land and wait for Veta to find her.

Or get to the Rhimodian homeworld.

Back to Harbin.

She knew she could trust him.

Before, when she’d first met him, his towering figure, like all the Rhimodians, had been a little startling and intimidating.

However, as she got to know him, she genuinely liked him beyond his sensual appeal.

He deserved her trust.

So she stayed in the escape pod, waiting for him to tell her it was safe to leave. Did she know what he’d seen? No. Of course, she wanted to know, but she also wanted to believe him when he said she needed to stay inside.

Maybe there were predatory lifeforms on the moon?

The pod’s weak scanners didn’t register much. There weren't any other lifeforms that she couldn’t account for. Harbin was nearby, but he was all that appeared.

Everything else was a frozen tundra.

She shivered, a chill starting to get to her. Or was she just reacting to learning of the cold outside?

It didn’t matter.

This was not the time for a philosophical question. Now she needed to worry about survival.

She ran the scanners again, looking at the layout of the land. What kind of structures were nearby, if any? What options did she have for staying warm?

Would Harbin’s ship hold them both? Could they just leave her pod here and fly to another location? That seemed the most logical thing to do. But would it be safe if there was a battle going on above them in space?

Still infuriated about the situation, Bianca truly wanted to go back to the Terran Empire and throttle Bron.

Damn menace would probably get turned on by it.

Bianca brushed
